Stroke: This setting allows you to select whether your engine is a 2-stroke or 4-stroke engine.
Cylinders: This specifies the number of cylinders in your engine. In this case, it's set to 6 cylinders.
Firing Order: This is the calculator to automaticaly fullfill the outputs and firing angles in a linear and common way, this setting is not saved on the ECU only the firing angles and outputs sellected are.
Wasted Spark: This option allows the automatic calculator to automatically sellect the ignition channels for a wasted spark ignition system, Wasted spark systems fire two spark plugs simultaneously, one on compression and one on exhaust.
Wasted COP (Coil-on-Plug): This option allows the automatic calculator to automatically sellect the outputs for a coil-on-plug ignition system where each cylinder has its own ignition coil** BUT** they fire in pairs
Distributor: Engine will use one output and the distributor will mechanically send the spark to the right cylinder.
Advanced Settings
Angle: This column shows the crankshaft angle in degrees at which each cylinder fires. The values are:
Cyl 1: 0.0 deg
Cyl 2: 480.0 deg
Cyl 3: 240.0 deg
Cyl 4: 600.0 deg
Cyl 5: 120.0 deg
Cyl 6: 360.0 deg
Cyl 7 and Cyl 8 are set to 0.0 deg, indicating they are not used in this 6-cylinder configuration.
Injector: The checkboxes next to each cylinder indicate whether fuel injection is enabled for that cylinder. All cylinders have this checked, meaning fuel injection is active for all.
Ignition Output: This grid allows you to specify which ignition output (1-8) fires for each cylinder at each crankshaft angle. For example, Cylinder 1 fires on Ignition Output 1 at 0 degrees, Cylinder 2 fires on Ignition Output 2 at 480 degrees, and so on.You can use any outputs you want for any cilinder you want as long as its configured to fire on the right angle.
Some of our PLUG-IN adapters are compatible with several different vehicles like the 1.8T ME7.5 adaper and due to the difference in pinouts used on the same harness adapter outputs might not be used in a linear way, for example instead of 1 2 3 4 for a 4 cylinder engine we might use 1 2 5 4 because the output 3 might be reserved for a different combination on the same harness adapter.
Output: This can be set to Dwell or 50% duty cycle. Here, it's set to 50% duty cycle, which is a common setting for controlling the tachometer output signal.
Cylinders: Again, it's set to 6 cylinders, consistent with the engine configuration.
Wasted Spark: This option has to be sellected when the engine is runing in wasted spark.
