The RM-Tuner "autotune" functionality is accomplished through the adaptation table. The adaptation table is essentially a correction table that generates percentage correction values in real-time (that will be applied to the VE table) by comparing the target AFR table to the actual running AFR. The ECU calculates the necessary correction value in percentage (%) that the VE table needs to be adjusted to achieve the target AFR.The adaptation table can be activated and the values will be generated on the ECU memory, it doesn't require a computer with RM-Tuner connected, the next time you connect to RM-Tuner the values will be pulled automatically and then you can apply them to the VE manually.

This functionality works based on several parameters that you can customize to achieve the best results.
- Upper Limit: Maximum allowed correction value (percentage) Accepts up to 40.95%
- Lower Limit: Lowest allowed correction value (percentage) Accepts up to -40.95%
- Const. Load Time: Minimum required time at a certain engine load to generate a correction, this time is to avoid transients, on the example below the load has to change less than 2.5kpa (for speed density) or 2% TPS (alpha-n) during 50 milliseconds to generate a correction value, the higher the value, the less correction it will make, it's interesting to start with a lower value and then increase slowly as fuelling gets closer and closer to the target. Note if the value of a given cell oscilates between positive and negative a lot it might be transients influence, in that case increase the time value.
- Priority: This option works like a filter, the higher the value the quicker it will generate a correction value on the table, this value can be a little bit higher on the begining when you start tuning.
- Disable/Enabled: Enable and Disables the Adaptation Table.
- Refresh: Will update the values on the table.
- Clear: Clears all the values on the table.
- Apply to VE: Applies the correction values generated on the table to the VE, if a certain cell has as value of 15 this means that the correspondent cell on the VE table will be adjusted 15%.
If you sellect the cells you can also interpolate and smooth the corrections.
